Science Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Brentwood

Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale

Fixed Term (Up to 12 months) – Full Time – January 2026 Start

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Science Teacher for a maternity cover role at a secondary school in Essex. This is a full-time position, temporarily covering for a staff absence.

The Role

  • Teach Science across KS3 and KS4, delivering high-quality lessons
  • Uphold effective classroom management and foster a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to department planning and share good practices
  • Support students’ progress and development through consistent assessment and feedback

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified teacher status (or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Science to secondary students, ideally including GCSE
  • Strong subject knowledge, particularly in Science disciplines
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to student success, resilience and collaborative working
