About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Music to join a thriving and well-resourced department for a maternity cover of up to one year. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented music educator to make an impact across Key Stages 3–5, within a vibrant, inclusive school community known for its commitment to performing arts.

The role can be offered full-time or part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE). Experience teaching A-Level or Music Technology would be advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and high-quality Music lessons across KS3–KS5.
  • Contribute to the department’s busy co-curricular programme, including ensembles, choirs, and performances.
  • Support the continued development of curriculum plans and resources.
  • Inspire students to develop both performance and composition skills.
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and degree in Music or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Music across KS3–KS5 in UK secondary schools.
  • Confident classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge.
  • Ability to motivate students of all abilities and foster a love of music.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
