We are seeking a motivated and inspiring Head of Computing to lead a successful department within a high-achieving secondary school in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Computing Teacher ready to step into leadership or an established Head of Department seeking a fresh challenge in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

The Role

• Provide effective leadership and management of the Computing department
• Deliver high-quality teaching across KS3–KS5, inspiring a passion for Computing and digital innovation
• Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that reflect current technological trends
• Support and mentor team members, promoting best practice and professional growth
• Analyse data to drive improvement and raise achievement across the department

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• QTS (or equivalent) and strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and IT
• A proven track record of successful teaching and student outcomes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• The ability to inspire both staff and students and drive continuous improvement
