About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Drama Teacher to join a thriving and oversubscribed secondary school in the North East Hertfordshire area. The successful candidate will cover a maternity leave from January 2026, teaching GCSE and A-Level Drama within a creative and well-supported department. The role is initially for two terms, with scope to extend for the right candidate.
The school promotes a harmonious and inclusive environment, where performing arts are celebrated as central to the school community. The Drama department is based in a modern performance block, complete with a fully equipped studio and shared facilities for music and drama. A TLR may be available for an exceptional candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and challenging Drama lessons across KS3–KS5
- Plan, assess, and track student progress in line with curriculum standards
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and performance events
- Work collaboratively within the department and wider school community
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation, and achievement
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
- Experience teaching Drama across KS3–KS5
- Ability to inspire creativity, confidence, and collaboration in students
- Strong classroom management and a proactive teaching approach
