Behaviour Specialist – Dagenham

Are you an empathetic and resilient individual who enjoys supporting young children to overcome barriers to learning?

We are working with a nurturing infant school in Dagenham that is seeking a Behaviour Specialist to join their team and provide targeted support for pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs.

Role Overview:

You will be working with infant-aged pupils (Reception to Year 2) who require extra support to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and build positive relationships. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact early in a child’s school journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans.
  • Promote positive learning behaviours through praise and consistency.
  • Help create a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support with small group or 1:1 interventions where required.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural, SEMH, or additional needs (school-based or otherwise).
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
