About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, compassionate, and organised Education Liaison Officer (ELO) to join a specialist provision in Milton Keynes.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity, supporting young people with complex needs and challenging backgrounds to access meaningful education and pathways for reintegration or future training and employment.

As part of the wider education team, you will play a key role in coordinating education plans, tracking attendance and progress, and maintaining positive relationships with schools, local authorities, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact between the provision, external education providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support young people’s transition into and out of education placements, ensuring continuity and engagement.
  • Liaise with SENCOs, social workers, and external agencies to promote multi-agency working and positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on attendance, attainment, and progress.
  • Champion the importance of education and help raise aspirations among young people with additional needs.
  • Support reintegration plans and help identify vocational, academic, or work-based learning opportunities.

About You

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, emotional resilience, and a passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with young people in SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision settings.
  • Knowledge of education pathways, EHCP processes, and reintegration support.
  • The ability to manage relationships with schools and local authorities effectively.
  • A calm and professional approach when managing sensitive or challenging situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

What’s on Offer

  • £110–£120 per day, dependent on experience
  • Full-time, permanent position (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm)
  • 33 days’ annual leave (in addition to bank holidays)
  • Opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives within a supportive, multidisciplinary team
