SEMH Teacher – Romford
Full-time | January 2026 Start | MPS + SEN Allowance
Dunbar Education is working with a specialist provision in Romford seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role:
- Full-time, long-term role starting January 2026
- Teaching a class of 10 learners (Years 9–11)
- Learners are formal curriculum students, working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1
- Focus on core subjects, personal development and vocational learning
- Support young people with SEMH and Autism, promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- No physical behaviour observed, but some students may present with challenging social and emotional needs typical of adolescence
- Work alongside a strong team of support staff and a committed leadership team
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Experience teaching in SEN or SEMH settings (KS3–KS4)
- Calm, resilient and positive approach to classroom management
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and restorative practice
- Ability to differentiate and adapt learning to suit a range of abilities
- Confident delivering lessons to learners working between Entry Level 2 – Level 1
