Send Teaching Assistant
Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Dudley area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting children with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and the school’s SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs. You’ll help them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential—both academically and personally.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language, SEMH)
- Assisting with lesson delivery and differentiation
- Creating a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND (school or care setting)
- A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
